Nestled in the heart of Dhenkanal, Sarakapatna village resonates with the rhythmic clatter of handlooms, as over 140 households meticulously weave the magic of 'Hastatanta sarees'.

The overwhelming popularity these sarees have garnered over time fails to surprise him, for their uniqueness is as alluring as their name suggests.

Thanks to the district administration and the government of Odisha, Sarakapatna has received a significant boost. Spacious rooms have been allocated for the artists to showcase their creations twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. Additionally, the government has extended support by providing machinery, loans of up to Rs 50,000, and inverters to ensure the continuity of this treasured legacy.
